Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ReplayDirector ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Windows desktop application and related services. By using ReplayDirector, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (used for login, billing, and support)
• Password (stored securely and hashed by Supabase — we never see it in plain text)
• Twitch account information if you choose to sign in with Twitch (display name, username, profile picture)
• Account creation date (used to calculate free trial eligibility)

Billing Information

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store or have access to your credit card number or payment details.
• We receive confirmation of subscription status (active, cancelled, expired) from Lemon Squeezy.

Usage & Diagnostic Information

• Bug reports you voluntarily submit through the in-app bug report feature, including any screenshots or clips you choose to attach
• App version and operating system version (included automatically in bug reports)

What We Do NOT Collect

• Your gameplay clips or recordings — these remain entirely on your local machine
• OBS settings or stream keys
• Microphone audio
• Browsing history or activity outside of ReplayDirector
• Any analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking beyond what you explicitly submit

2. AI Clip Titling

ReplayDirector automatically generates descriptive titles for your clips using Google's Gemini API. To do this, we extract 3 compressed image frames from each clip and send them to Google's API. No audio, full video, or personal information is included in these requests. The frames are processed by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Generated titles are stored locally on your machine in a file called clip_labels.json.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To verify subscription status and enforce trial limits
• To process payments through Lemon Squeezy
• To respond to bug reports and support requests
• To deliver app updates through the built-in updater

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone except as described in this policy.

4. Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely in Supabase, a cloud database provider. Auth tokens are stored locally on your machine at %APPDATA%\ReplayDirector\auth.json. This file allows you to stay logged in between sessions and is never transmitted except during authentication flows with Supabase.

All clip files, clip labels, and app settings are stored locally on your machine and are never uploaded to our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

ReplayDirector uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — authentication and account data storage (supabase.com/privacy)
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and subscription management (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy)
• Google Gemini API — AI clip title generation (policies.google.com/privacy)
• GitHub — app update delivery via GitHub Releases (GitHub Privacy Statement)

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

ReplayDirector is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Account passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Auth tokens are stored locally on your device. We use HTTPS for all communications with our backend services. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the application or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ReplayDirector after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
